TERMS OF DESIGN
Before booking your project, please take a moment to review the design terms outlined below. These policies are designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and a smooth, efficient process for both parties.
Studio Hours & Correspondence
I’m typically in my studio Monday through Friday during regular business hours. In an effort to keep my creative batteries charged, I limit work on weekends and holidays.
Most of our communication will take place via email, which helps keep all the details organized and easy to reference throughout the process. While I do schedule calls occasionally when needed, email tends to be the most effective way to stay on track. For quick questions or updates, I’m also available via text to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Payment Schedule
All payments are graciously accepted through Paypal via emailed invoice.
Standard Orders
25% of the total project fee is required as a deposit to secure your project booking. Deposits are non-refundable.
50% of remaining balance is due at the beginning of the design process
Remaining 50% is due prior to file delivery for branding projects, or launch for web design projects
Immediate Start & A La Carte Orders
Rush & Immediate Start Projects - 50% is required to begin the project with the remaining 50% due prior to launch.
Site Updates - The full design fee is due prior to updates being made to the site.
Final invoices not paid within 3 calendar days from the invoice date will incur a $50 late fee per week. Final files and tutorials will not be delivered until all payments have been received.
Refund Policy
Due to the custom nature of design work, refunds are not issued in most circumstances. If you decide to cancel a project before work has begun, refund requests must be made within 7 days of your payment. After 7 days, all payments are non-refundable.
If the design process has already started, you will be responsible for payment for all completed work up to the point of cancellation, billed at $175 per hour. In lieu of a refund, a design credit equal to your payment will remain valid for one calendar year and can be applied to future projects. Refunds (if applicable) will be processed within 30 days and issued via the original payment method. These terms are non-negotiable.
Revision Policy
You are entitled to three rounds of revisions for each step of the process (e.g., logo design or individual page design). Additional revision rounds beyond the included three will be billed at $55 per round.
Post-Launch Edits
Post-launch edits are billed on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out for a custom quote.
Turnaround Time
The timeline for each project depends on several factors, including the complexity of the design, the number of revisions, and your responsiveness during the process. While most projects take an average of 4-8 weeks to complete once we get started, every project is unique. When you request a quote, I’ll provide you with an estimated timeline tailored to your specific needs.
Design Fees & Pricing
When working with me, your investment will look like this:
Squarespace Business for your website hosting ($23-$36/mo)
My Design Fee
Domain Name (typically $10-$20 annually)
Please note that all fees associated with using Squarespace as your website platform are your responsibility.
Pause Clause
If you need to pause the design process or become unresponsive, your project will be placed on hold. Once you’re ready to resume, you will be added to the next available spot in the queue. Please note that if you make changes to the Kiki Co template during the pause, additional fees will apply to restore the original work. Similarly, additional fees may be incurred if the project’s direction changes after the pause.
For projects paused for 90 days or more from the last client communication, a $175 re-start fee will be required. Projects paused for one calendar year or longer from the start date will forfeit all payments and any rights to the design work completed.
Permissions & Use
Kiki Co is not liable for any photos, page copy and design elements provided by clients. You are required to have permission before submitting any page copy, design elements or photography to use on your site and accept full responsibility for any misuse or copyright infringement.
Confidentiality & Access
All correspondence, including video tutorials, between you and Kiki Co is confidential and may not be shared or forwarded to others without my expressed written consent. I may need access to your Squarespace and supporting accounts via login info during the design process. I will not share or sell your information under any circumstances.
Site Content
As the client, you agree to provide all necessary page copy and images, which will be integrated seamlessly into the design. Please ensure that all content is finalized and ready for use prior to the start of the project to keep the process smooth and efficient.
Printed Works
Kiki Co is not responsible for the quality of printing results and does not issue refunds for printed materials under any circumstances.
Design Credit & Right to Works
As the client, you are granted full rights to use the logo files provided to you without requiring credit back to Kiki Co. A designer credit linking to Kiki Co will be placed at the bottom of your website and must remain visible as long as any elements I’ve designed or developed are in use on your site.
Agreement
By submitting a client application and paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these design terms and conditions.
